Your Hospital Bill and Insurance
At Downey Regional Medical Center (DRMC), we are dedicated to making the billing process as easy as possible.
DRMC will send the bill to your insurance company. The insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company and you are responsible for the payment of your hospital bill. The hospital does not bill for physician fees and, therefore, you may receive an additional charge for these services:
- Emergency Room Physician Services.
- Interpretations of Diagnostic Services. Example, X Ray(s), EKG, MRI’s etc.
- Pathology Services.
These bills are for professional services rendered by these physicians in diagnosing or interpreting test results while you were a patient.
You may be contacted if payment is not received from your insurance company in the proper time allotted by the contract between your insurance company and the hospital, and be asked to step in to contact your insurance.
Any portion of your bill not paid by your insurance company or met by your initial deposit is due and payable from you immediately. If you cannot meet this responsibility, please feel free to stop by or call our business office. We have several payment options available to assist you in paying your hospital bill.
