More than 6,500 patients receive surgical treatment at DRMC each year. A highly skilled surgical team uses advanced surgical facilities to perform a full range of emergency, elective and open-heart procedures. In addition to the main hospital operating room suites, DRMC has an Outpatient Surgical Center (OPSC) within the hospital.
Established in 1976, the OPSC was one of the first outpatient surgical centers in California to be within a hospital. Having immediate access to all of the hospital's resources such as supplies, personnel, and services are a great benefit to the patient. The patient and family-friendly OPSC has a self-contained process from registration to discharge.
The OPSC provides the patient and family with a caring environment and advanced surgical equipment. To reduce the stress of the surgical process, families are able to visit with their loved one in both the pre-operative and the recovery areas of the Surgical Center.
