Family Birth Center

The Family Birth Center at DRMC is another example of how we combine high technology with an atmosphere of supportive care. The labor/delivery/recovery rooms look more like bed and breakfast accommodations than typical hospital rooms. Each room has wood floors, wallpaper and drapes to make the expectant mother feel right at home. Equipment is stored out of sight, but is close by when   needed. Should surgery be required, a fully equipped operating room and post-anesthesia recovery room are located within the FBC, eliminating the need to leave the Family Birth Center for the main operating room.

Our Mother/Baby rooms (post-partum) allow the baby to stay in the room with mom instead of in a separate nursery. Our nurses are highly skilled with many having more than 10 years of experience.

We also provide a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for newborns with special needs. Sick or premature infants are cared for by specially trained registered nurses and board-certified neonatologists who are available 24 hours a day.

Expectant parents can rest assured that the Family Birth Center is protected at all times by several security methods, including locked entrance doors and cameras.
