
Rob Fuller, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
As EVP and COO, Rob Fuller oversees the day-to-day operations of Downey Regional Medical Center. He has been instrumental in designing and implementing a five-year turnaround strategy, and promoting a broad-based customer focus within the Hospital under its “MAGIC” customer service program. Rob chairs the multi-disciplinary operating, accountability, patient flow and revenue integrity committees. Rob also functions as the primary government relations liaison and oversees the human resources function at the hospital.
Rob also teaches management, supervisory, and coaching skills classes to hospital managers, as well as communications styles and self-awareness programs for supervisors. Rob has also pioneered ‘horizontal’ operations and management at Downey Regional, establishing leadership councils for significant operating groups. Rob chairs the oversight board for medical education at the Hospital and directed the establishment of the medical teaching program’s OMM clinic in conjunction with Western University. Rob also sponsored the formation of the Hospital’s unit-based council program and its physician unit champion program.
Prior to joining the medical center, Rob was an experienced trial and business lawyer practicing in New York, California and overseas for over 20 years. He also held several legal and business positions with Texaco Inc. He joined the staff of Downey Regional Medical Center in 2001 as operating head of insurance services.
Rob received his J.D. at Fordham Law School and his A.B. from Dartmouth.
