Endoscopy
Endoscopic video technology provides clear, precise, lifelike images which allow for non-invasive examination and procedures of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs. The result is more rapid diagnosis and more efficient treatment plans. Such non-operative procedures shorten hospital stays or make outpatient treatment possible. Our three-room Endoscopy department performs over 4,000 procedures per year in a caring, professional environment.
The Endoscopy department is a division of Surgical Services at DRMC and is capable of caring for the geriatric population as well as younger adults, children and infants. Along with the specialty physician, a registered nurse and technician participate in the patient's care during the procedure and are available to assist and answer any questions.

Registration information for the Endoscopy department
Please sign in and register at the Outpatient Surgical Center (OPSC) located by the Emergency Care Center toward the back of the hospital (on Patton Road).
Before endoscopic procedures
Once registered, you will enter the pre-op and admission will be finalized. At this time a nurse will complete an overall assessment and start and intravenous line for sedation. Once the preparation is concluded, you will then be taken to the Endoscopy department.
